At Luxe’ Living with our Just Living Green program, we want to help you lower the environmental impact of your home and your daily life. To do that, we help you find the best green products, practices and service providers to help you achieve your environmental goals. And we will also help you understand the environmental benefits and economic trade-offs of your choices. In short, we want to be your stepping-stone to a greener healther lifestyle.
But first let me introduce myself and give a brief statement as to how I became involved with this green lifestyle thing. My name is Dayton Wilks, owner of LuxeLiving.net. Now I did not vote for Al Gore nor did I like him when he ran for President, but his efforts to bring attention to global warming is a really good thing.So, in short Al Gore and other Hollywood Celebrities along with the green programs on public TV have sparked my interest in living green.,
I learned that one should start by taking baby steps in the beginning, so as not to become overwhelmed and thus giving up. You are told to start with making your home eco friendlily, by getting rid of all the toxic cleaners in your home and to use green cleaners instead. Now for me, it is very important that my home be clean. As I have health problems. A few years ago I bought a Oreck air cleaner, which helped but not enough.
We where unaware that the cleaning products we where using was detrimental to my health problems. Duh!
When I first heard the name Shaklee for green cleaning products, my reaction was negative, I remembered years back when Shaklee distributors had a garage full of Shaklee products.
I first heard about these products again on public TV when they ran a series on
Building a eco friendlily green home with Kevin Contreras as host and builder.

BuildingGreentv.com) and as I stated above that my reaction was negative. Then along came Oprah Winfrey with her endorsement of Shaklee cleaning products, so I said self maybe you need to take a look at this Shaklee thing. (Check Back Later More Coming.)

We try to choose reusables over disposables, and recycle and compost everything we can. But every week, there’s always something left that gets taken “away” by the garbage trucks: stiff plastic packaging from just about any new purchase; incandescent light bulbs recently replaced with compact fluorescents; wrappers from Fair Trade chocolate; assorted tissues and dust; waxy boxes from Chinese takeout; a deodorant canister. In our recycling bins sit magazines, containers from organic yogurt, soda cans, glass bottles from organic olive oil. Click the above link to read the full article.
